  • Whether you are city yoga veteran, a total newbie, or anything in-between, Helen should be on your list to try. She's a rarity imo. She expertly designs sequences to prepare you for the main challenge of the class without losing a sense of flow and connectivity. She clearly draws from experience in multiple styles of yoga and both safeguards and challenges all bodies on a mat. Its a private yoga space so theres no corporate undertone, it's well equipped and welcoming. I'm a strong believer in there being a yoga teacher out there for everyone, so if you haven't found yours yet - keep looking and come. For point of reference I'm an 'experienced' yogi, I taught for 10 years before kids and I've always gravitated to very strong dynamic practise. I'm really enjoying Helen's instruction and the space she holds, easing me back into postures that are old friends as well as possibly daring to conquer some that weren't.

  • I have nothing but positivity to share about Helen at Yoga Breathworks. I always just 'dabbled' in yoga, on and off, never really finding my way with it. It wasn't until I met Helen, that it all just clicked together. Helen is kind, supportive and patient. Her knowledge of yoga is impeccable, but never intimidating. I've learnt so much from Helen over the years, and she has given me the confidence and strength I didn't think I had. Yoga Breathworks is also as a really calming, considered and cosy space, achieving a welcoming and relaxing environment. Sadly I've recently moved from Kingston and can no longer attend Helen's classes but I'm hoping to come to one of her yoga retreats that she organises from time to time. It does feel like an empty space in my heart, not getting my weekly yoga dose with Helen. I know I'll never find another yoga teacher quite like her. Thank you, Helen.

  • Helen is a great teacher- not only very professional and knowledgeable but also friendly and warm. She runs her classes in a beautiful studio in Canbury Park Road, so very close to the centre of Kingston. In her mindful vinyasa classes she combines vigorous exercise with breathing and quiet reflection. I have been attending Helen's classes for about two years on and off but now I can buy 4-week packages I can commit to doing it regularly and I've been feeling healthier and happier since.

  • I started yoga with Helen as a complete beginner, having not given yoga too much consideration before. The only regret I have is not meeting the wonderful Helen years ago. I’m very grateful for the impact she’s had on my state of wellbeing. After my first class I knew Helen was the right instructor for me. I’m 47 years old, my body is not that flexible, and I don’t feel particularly fit having not worked out in years. I thought I left it too late to work on my body’s limitations. How wrong I was! After our first class together, I was already feeling lighter and more agile. It was remarkable how much more flexible I could be over the duration of a single class. It’s been almost a year since I started regular classes, and yoga has now become a must in my self-care routine. I really enjoy my time with Helen in the studio, with every class focusing on something different. She is also very generous with her recommendations of exercises to do at home too. The time I spend with Helen is the best investment in self-care I have made in a long time. I highly recommend Helen and Yoga Breathworks.

  • I have now been training with Helen at Yoga Breathworks for over 2 years and I absolutely love it! Helen is a fantastic teacher, encouraging everyone to work within their own abilities but also showing us progressions of the movements to instill the confidence to give things a go. The studio is a lovely safe space to turn up no matter what kind of day you have had and invest an hour or so of time in yourself. If you are thinking about popping along for a class I wouldn't hesitate, give it a try.

  • I can not recommend Helen highly enough - brilliantly explained for a novice like myself... Amazing results after a few weeks to the mind, body, and soul.

  • Helen is a wonderful yoga teacher! I'm currently in her beginners' class and it has been a great way to be re-introduced to yoga. Helen is a thorough and thoughtful teacher; she will demonstrate the position for the beginners and she will also show how the position may evolve as you gain confidence and skill. This gives you something to work towards, always at your own pace. Highly recommended!

  • I am writing to thank you for being so supportive and such a gentle professional and compassionate teacher during my first steps to yoga and I really enjoyed it and it was so important to me to feel welcomed. It was wonderful to connect with you and I am really grateful for everything you offered.

  • Helen has introduced me to yoga, I’m 58. She is a natural teacher as she is such a good communicator and really understands people, offering encouragement every step of the way. She is genuinely interested in helping you improve any body weaknesses you may have, helping you to be your best self.

  • The best way to feel relaxed and energised at the same time. As a yoga novice I've found Helen the perfect teacher - knowledgeable, supportive and encouraging.

  • I'm so very proud of you, and grateful for what you have taught me - its really a gift. I was always drawn to yoga but going straight to vinyasa classes, I felt so unprepared to join in, and also got very little out of trying! You have given your time, knowledge and passion so freely and it's been something that I feel like I will have in my life now for a long time to come - I hope. Without you offering me that gateway, I dont think I would have got past the entry barriers. Asides from that, its done the world of good for my shoulder. I think I have something peaceful planted in my brain too, to give openness and acceptance more freedom. Honestly… amazing. Thank you.

  • After 3 yoga sessions with Helen, I gained greater range and flexibility of my shoulder joint that I had injured during cycling. I am now not only enjoying the weekly classes at YOGA BREATHWORKS but I’m also back on my bike

  • Helen has hit upon something with men’s yoga sessions. Its perfect environment for beginners but we can all see development and quick learning curve. When I look down line sometimes I never thought Id see such sights of middle aged blokes performing the goddess pose! Its a lovely inclusive and non intimidating environment, coached perfectly by patient and kind teacher in Helen and the old aches and pains are largely a non issue I am pleased to report

  • Helen has been great at offering warm, welcoming and instructive classes where I really feel I learn something about my body and about yoga

  • I have known Helen for over 20 years as a work colleague, but mostly a valued friend. It has been wonderful to watch her embark on a new career path of learning and teaching whilst developing a discipline that she has always been so passionate about. I have never been a great fan of yoga, but was willing to persevere with Helen now at the helm. It took no time at all for me to eagerly anticipate joining her classes at 9am every Monday morning and soon they became my favourite way to start the week. Helen shows a true passion when she is teaching whilst wanting to educate and inspire others, she is thoughtful, well prepared, empowering and I completely trust her authenticity. One class is never entirely the same as another as she expertly manages to combine consistency with inspiring new and often challenging moves each week, I know this was the key to suddenly keeping me engaged - diversity and challenges. Helen manages to incorporate the art of breathing, effortless communication and balance allowing her pupils to learn and evolve at their own pace, she has an ability to connect with us through her positive energy and generous personality. I couldn’t recommend a better teacher to start you on your journey through yoga and enlightenment.
