Sharing yoga practice …
I want to guide you in your yoga journey and show you how ancient yoga practices can benefit your mind and body today. Breathing techniques and body awareness help reduce stress, ease discomfort, improve sleep, prevent injuries, and enhance strength. I continue to learn from my own yoga teachers: Susanne Lahusen, Catriona Brockenshire, Melaine Cooper, Norman Blair, and Gingi Lee.
I’m almost YTT500 accredited with The Shala, having loved my first training with Yogacampus via the Life Centre. This further learning enables me to bring you fresh & up-to-date yoga & health knowledge woven into my teaching.
Hatha sparked my interest in yoga in my teens, leading me to Astanga Vinyasa in 1998, I was totally hooked on practicing daily & on the feeling of happiness that the demanding 2 hr practise gave. Yoga stayed with me, in gyms, in village halls, on holidays & work trips, providing health & wellbeing through life’s journey.
In 2011 Nick & I built a photography studio for our business MarMarCreative.com behind our house. I quickly invited local yoga teachers to hire the space for regular classes in the studio & knew Teacher Training was a long term goal. Studying the history, philosophy, anatomy, physiology & sequencing of yoga was a fascinating deep dive into a life long passion. I was taught by well respected, experienced & varied teachers who shared their many contrasting viewpoints.
Ultimately the practice of Yoga helps to balance life’s contrasts, strength with flexibility, movement towards stillness, symmetry & asymmetry, deep focus followed by relaxation. By combining dynamic movement with stillness, we promote fitness & injury prevention, work towards calm, mental clarity & develop ease in facing life’s challenges. I teach yoga because I have & continue to find that yoga makes you feel AMAZING! 🙏🏼
